FLORENCE: DAY 2

June 29, 2010
After a restless, hot, bug bitten night we woke up to find not only a ton of bug bites on all three of us, but another hot/humid day. We decided to head up to Palazzo Michelangelo. This is a plaza that overlooks all of Florence it was beautiful! There was a bronze statue of The David. There was also this amazing church called San Miniato. This church was amazing. The story behind this church was that when a beheaded saint, he picked up his head and walked up to the top of this hill and that was when he died. After that point, this became the first Christian cemetery and the site for this church. After taking some pictures we walked back down the big hill to find the Pitti Palace art gallery. When we finally found the Pitti Palace we ended up not going in because it was going to cost 20 Euros per person and we had to go meet our friend Natasha for dinner. So we walked along the gold and silver bridge and then took a detour to the palace that was the original home of The David.
After meeting up with Natasha and her friend Carrie we walked through the market a for a bit. We were lassoed by Whitney’s “Best Friend” again and got free bracelets then got free bracelets from his enemy seller. (When the best friends enemy found out that the best friend gave us a good deal on a bag and a free bracelet he quickly gave us a better deal and told us that the other guy is an idiot and a liar. Then the best friend told us that the other guy is not a man because he has no God…I don’t know what to believe, but I couldn’t help but laughing harder then I have in a long time…) After we left their shops Natasha informed me that she needed my “superior haggling skills” to get some pants. I can proudly say that I haggled some pants for dearest Natasha from 30 Euros to 15 Euros…thank you very much!
